the art of preparation

There's something so incredibly raw & beautiful & abundant & rewarding about a 3.30am start to get to the flower markets on sunrise. It's a little like still being in a dream, perusing the ample buckets of peonies & breathing deeply the heady scent of spring, that is, until you almost get run over by a trolley or need to duck to avoid being taken out by someone with an arm full of branches.

I adore the markets & spring time makes everything new again.

So it was on the Friday before our long table lunch in the country, an early start, a coffee fix & a fun round trip in anticipation & preparation for the following days events.

A celebration to launch of the bautiful Kinfolk table cookbook, an opportunity to gather like minds & feast & share. Hosted by Natalie Hayllar of Eat Read Love & myself at my little country cottage in Kangaroo Valley.
